Klementinum Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping onto Karlova Street near the heart of Staré Město, Klementinum Restaurant unfolds as a quietly welcoming haven amid the gentle bustle of Prague’s historic center. The street hums with the lively rhythm of tourists and locals weaving through cobblestones, but inside this spot, the pace softens just enough to invite a pause—a chance to linger, savor, and settle into familiar comfort.
The atmosphere is warm and approachable, where genuine smiles meet curious guests drawn in not by flashy calls but a subtle invitation to experience something thoughtfully local. Here, the clinking of glasses and murmur of conversation blend beneath soft lighting, crafting a space that feels simultaneously cozy and refreshingly unpretentious.
Dining at Klementinum is less about a rigid menu and more about sharing moments around dishes that carry echoes of tradition and casual delight. Imagine dipping into a rich, hearty goulash served inside freshly baked bread—a simple pleasure that feels like a small celebration of Czech flavors. Other offerings, whether tender Prague ham or delicate bites with a European flair, unfold naturally as part of a meal meant to be savored rather than rushed.
With attentive staff who foster an easy rapport—sometimes surprising guests with thoughtful, small gestures—the restaurant cultivates a sincere connection where guests can feel both cared for and at ease. It’s the kind of place where time stretches a little, inviting you to be present as the city hums just outside its doors.

Lots of negative reviews on here. There’s a guy outside inviting people in; he was super nice and helpful explaining what some of the food is. The drinks were large (no ice, but started cold), people were nice, food was tasty. Spent ~£40 and don’t regret it.

I found a cozy spot on a busy tourist street serving goulash in a bread bowl. The staff were attentive, the ambiance was pleasant, and the goulash was delicious. The waiter even gave me a lollipop candy. Would recommend!
